Record #135242:

Avalanches d'été, avalanches d'automne: un risque méconnu / Jean-Paul Zuanon.

Title: Avalanches d'été, avalanches d'automne: un risque méconnu / Jean-Paul Zuanon.
Translated title: Summer avalanches, autumnn avalanches: an badly known risk.
Author(s): Zuanon, Jean-Paul.
Date: 1995.
Language: French.
In: Neige et Avalanches. (1995.), (70) (1995)
Abstract: Article concentrates on "unseasonal" avalanches, a serious threat. Table gives worst cases in Switzerland, Italy and France since 1974, and compares casualties with those of winter disasters. Victims are classified by activity. Conclusions are that knowledge of snow conditions, carrying ARVA in party, readiness to curtail outing and - perhaps for alpinists, not to be roped - would all cut casualties.
Notes:
