Nordic initiatives to reduce industrial pollution on the Kola Peninsula / Marina Gridina.

Title: Nordic initiatives to reduce industrial pollution on the Kola Peninsula / Marina Gridina.
Author(s): Gridina, Marina.
Date: 1995.
Abstract: Analyses research and measures which followed discovery of acidification problem in Norway, Sweden and Finland due to pollution from Kols'kiy Poluostrov which proved inadequate and necessitated wider action. Studies initiatives by Nordic countries to reduce their vulnerability to transboundary air pollution. Argues that problem is not local and therefore local efforts are not sufficient. Examines bilateral cooperation in environmental area as well as multilateral initiatives at European level. With particular reference to Pechenganikel plant (part of Noril'sk Nikel group)
