Abstract: Canadian Appalachian region provides excellent example of orogen built up through accretion and continental collision. Accounts of temporal and spatial rock divisions are followed by geophysical characteristics of orogen and its offshore extensions, paleontology, metallogeny, and summary of zonal linkages and accretionary history. Further chapter considers Caledonides of East Greenland.
