Rezente Permafrostdegradierung: Auswirkungen auf Böden und Vegetation in Nordwestspitzbergen (Liefde- und Bockfjord) / Joachim Eberle, Hans-Jürgen Sturm.
Title: | Rezente Permafrostdegradierung: Auswirkungen auf Böden und Vegetation in Nordwestspitzbergen (Liefde- und Bockfjord) / Joachim Eberle, Hans-Jürgen Sturm. |
Translated title: | Consequences of recent permafrost degradation on soils and vegetation in north-west Spitsbergen (Liefde- and Bockfjord). |

In: | Erde, Die. (1995.), Vol. 126(1) (1995) |
Abstract: | In study area degradation leads to change in vegetation and soil system. Lowering of permafrost has led to water deficiencies in upper layer of soil. Increase in thawing depth has positive effect by improving stability and conditions for soil formation. Change is due to some extreme winters with little snow or to continuous change towards arid climate. Model of influence of permafrost on High Arctic ecology was obtained for area. |
