| Abstract: | Helicopter-mounted short-pulse radar is evaluated as a rapid reconnaissance tool for locating snow-bridged crevasses. Strong evidence of crevassing was recorded in experiments, flown over Ross Island and over the Ross ice shelf, at altitudes near 15 m. |
