Quantitative analysis of terrain ruggedness in reindeer winter grounds / Christian Nellemann, Gareth Fry.

Title: Quantitative analysis of terrain ruggedness in reindeer winter grounds / Christian Nellemann, Gareth Fry.
Author(s): Nellemann, Christian.
Fry, Gareth.
Date: 1995.
In: Arctic. (1995.), Vol. 48(2) (1995)
Abstract: Using new index of terrain ruggedness based on topographic maps, reports distinct terrain structure in high-use portions of reindeer winter grounds for two regions within Norway. Such areas found to be significantly more rugged. Authors suggest that terrain structure should be considered important habitat attribute for management planning on reindeer winter habitats.
