Record #133844:

Ice processes and growth history on Arctic and sub-Arctic lakes using ERS-1 SAR data / K. Morris, Martin O. Jeffries, W.F. Weeks.

Title: Ice processes and growth history on Arctic and sub-Arctic lakes using ERS-1 SAR data / K. Morris, Martin O. Jeffries, W.F. Weeks.
Author(s): Morris, K.
Jeffries, Martin O.
Weeks, W. F.
Date: 1995.
In: Polar Record. (1995.), Vol. 31(177) (1995)
Abstract: Reports survey of ice growth and decay processes on selection of shallow and deep Alaskan lakes using radiometrically calibrated ERS-1 SAR images. Time series analysis of radar backscatter data during period of ice cover in 1991-92 and 1992-93 reveals significant variations suggesting potential of technique for long-term monitoring and detection of changes related to global warming.
