Record #133835:

Respiration of juvenile Arctic cod (Boreogadus saida): effects of acclimation, temperature, and food intake / Haakon Hop, Mark Graham.

Title: Respiration of juvenile Arctic cod (Boreogadus saida): effects of acclimation, temperature, and food intake / Haakon Hop, Mark Graham.
Author(s): Hop, Haakon.
Graham, Mark.
Date: 1995.
In: Polar Biology. (1995.), Vol. 15(5) (1995)
Abstract: Presents first comprehensive study on respiration of Arctic cod at low temperatures (ranging from - 0.5 to 2.7 °C). Investigates hypothesis that long-term acclimation results in low respiration rates. Also seeks to quantify relationship between metabolic rate and temperature, within range of ambient temperature experienced by Arctic cod, and to measure specific dynamic action in both individuals and group of Arctic cod. Study carried out in Resolute Bay area, Cornwallis Island.
