Record #133815:
Zinc, cadmium, mercury and selenium in polar bears Ursus maritimus from Central East Greenland / R. Dietz, E.W. Born, Carsten Thyge Agger, C.O. Nielsen.
Title: | Zinc, cadmium, mercury and selenium in polar bears Ursus maritimus from Central East Greenland / R. Dietz, E.W. Born, Carsten Thyge Agger, C.O. Nielsen. |
Author(s): | Dietz, R. Born, E. W. Agger, Carsten Thyge. Nielsen, C. O. |
Date: | 1995. |
In: | Polar Biology. (1995.), Vol. 15(3) (1995) |
Abstract: | Muscle, liver and kidney tissues from 38 polar bears in Scoresby Sound area were analysed for elements. Low Cd can be explained by low content in seal blubber. Hg and Cd were positively correlated with age in liver and kidney. Comparisons were made with Canadian animals for all elements. |
