Abstract: | General Kurt Martti Wallenius (1893-1984) was soldier, man of action and writer. Besides numerous articles and stories, he wrote Ihmismetsästäjä ja erämiehiä (Human hunters and wilderness men), Lapin sota 1939-40 sanoin ja kuvin, Vanhat kalajumalat (Ancient fishing gods), Miesten meri (Man from the sea), much translated, Makreeta, merensoutajan vaimo (Makreeta, wife of the oarsman), and Petsamo. Mittaamattomien mahdollisuuksien maa (Petsamo. Land of limitless possibilities). He himself had taken leading part in events in his histories and was most important exponent of Lapland culture and literary history. |
