| Abstract: | Vessel's second voyage was led by Otto Sverdrup, to go as far north as possible and investigate unknown regions. She was away four years, and on return to Norway had discovered and mapped 150 000 sq km of new land. 35-year old Ivar Fosheim was on expedition, keen hunter and outdoor man, with commission to get fresh meat. He also wrote diary, giving lively portrait of expedition's hardships in ice. |
