"Stallo"-boplassene / Inger Storli.

Title: "Stallo"-boplassene / Inger Storli.
Translated title: "Stallo" dwelling places.
Author(s): Storli, Inger.
Date: 1994.
Publisher: Oslo: Novus forlag

Abstract: Author puts case that Saami have herded reindeer for many centuries. Dwelling places high on "Keel" were in use in Viking times. Author considers that stallos were set up by mountain Saami, who held leading place in Saami communities. Later information in Aronsson's book on Forest Reindeer Herding appeared too late to be incorporated. It gives evidence that herding in northern Sweden goes back to time of Christ.
