Abstract: Investigation aimed to survey culture of settlement using archaeology, oral tradition and written sources to fill out picture and corroborate where possible. Site is well suited as geographically well defined and seen as cultural entity by all concerned, shows cultural continuity since arrival of Thule culture about AD 1300 and has large body of archive material.
