Record #131602:
Satellit-overvåkning av selens vandringer og adferd / Lars P. Folkow.
Title: | Satellit-overvåkning av selens vandringer og adferd / Lars P. Folkow. |
Translated title: | Satellite surveillance of the seal's migrations and behaviour. |
Author(s): | Folkow, Lars P. |
Date: | 1994. |
Language: | Norwegian. |
In: | Ottar. (1994.), Vol. 3 (1994) |
Abstract: | Satellite surveillance makes it possible for first time to find out where seals (11 Greenland and 30 Hooded) go and how they behave outside hunting season. It also puts data very quickly on disc, fax or printout. Article describes snags that are still to be overcome, and some compromises and devices to optimise use of current and sending periods. So far best results are from Hooded Seals, as Greenlands do not emerge so far and often swim on their backs. |
Notes: | Ottar. Vol. 3 :34-37 (1994). |
