Record #131413:

Maintenance of the Arctic Ocean large-scale baroclinic structure by the M2 tide / Igor V. Polyakov.

Title: Maintenance of the Arctic Ocean large-scale baroclinic structure by the M2 tide / Igor V. Polyakov.
Author(s): Polyakov, Igor V.
Date: 1994.
In: Polar Research. (1994.), Vol. 13(2) (1994)
Abstract: Three-dimensional structure of M2 tidal currents has been modelled. Possibility of energy transfer from tidal barotropic motion to large-scale baroclinic circulation of Arctic Ocean has been estimated. Bottom relief plays important role in formation of large-scale pattern. Hypothesis has been proposed that M2 tide may support near-slope convection of East-Siberian and Laptev Seas.
