| Abstract: | Coastal Jameson Land is characterized by thick Quaternary deposits from last interglacial/glacial cycle. Successions at mouth of Langelandselv exhibit key stratigraphy where sediments from its interglaciation (Eemian) are overlain by three till units interbedded with glacimarine and deltaic interstadial successions. Immediately after retreat of glaciers after Saalian glaciation, warm Atlantic water surpassed what is known from Holocene. Two tills reflect readvances of fjord glaciers. Dates are suggested for interstades. |
