Abstract: Four geologic units are identifiable on false colour composite of Landsat Thematic Mapper spectral bands. Area covered by Weichselian glaciations has fresh glacial morphology and less developed drainage system than older landscape. Contextual analysis was included in Maximum Likelihood classification to map extent of Weichselian glaciations. Boundaries are in general agreement with earlier mapping or with visual interpretation of false colour composite. Independent remote sensing approach is prevented by vegetation and lack of discrimination in spectral reflectance from deposits.
