Abstract: Geophysical and geological investigations were undertaken to characterise nature and chronology of marine sedimentary record. Seismic records show that 70% of outer fjord system is covered by 10 m of unlithified sediments, scoured by icebergs above 550 m depth. 90% of core material is massive diamicton of Holocene age from iceberg rafting and turbid meltwater. Article details deductions made from local data concerning ice positions and moraines.
