Record #131386:

Geomorphology of a degrading Arctic delta, Sermilik, south-east Greenland / Niels Nielsen.

Title: Geomorphology of a degrading Arctic delta, Sermilik, south-east Greenland / Niels Nielsen.
Author(s): Nielsen, Niels.
Date: 1994.
In: Geografisk Tidsskrift. (1994.), Vol. 94 (1994)
Abstract: Arctic delta on Ammassalik Island has been studied including its geomorphology, sediments, dynamics and evolution. Fluvial system is fed by retreating glacier and comprises alluvial valley and lobate delta. River discharges into Polar sea, ice-bound for 7-8 months a year and with abundant icebergs in summer, so wave energy from stormy Denmark Strait is low. Coastal structures undergo rapid landward migration and delta is degrading.
