Abstract: Project was started by Russia after border with Finland opened in 1990. Some border areas had been strictly previously protected. Aeras lacking protection regimes included border between Finland and Murmansk and Karelia districts. Individual articles cover: ecological characteristics of territory; Finnish-Russian woodland area; "Laplandsky Forest" and Paanajärvi Area; realization of FRF Region sustainable development.
