Record #130821:

Sinistral transpression and hydrothermal activity during emplacement of the Early Proterozoic Julianehåb batholith, Ketilidian belt, South Greenland / B. Chadwick, and seven others.

Title: Sinistral transpression and hydrothermal activity during emplacement of the Early Proterozoic Julianehåb batholith, Ketilidian belt, South Greenland / B. Chadwick, and seven others.
Author(s): Chadwick, B.
Date: 1994.
In: Grønlands Geologiske Undersøgelse. Rapport. (1994.), Vol. 163 (1994)
Abstract: Recent field work has revised 1960s assessment of Early Proterozoic Ketilidian orogen near Søndre Sermilik. It consists only of hornblende- bearing dykes of appinite suite, all of Julianehåb batholith. Steep to vertical shear zones from centimetres to one kilometre wide are significant element. Principal shear zones trend north-east and are parallel to schistosity in granitoid rocks. These and other relationships suggest that batholith was emplaced during subduction from south in sinistral transpressional system.
