Record #130761:

A diagnostic analysis of Heinrich-event glacial surges / Barry Saltzman, M. Verbitsky.

Title: A diagnostic analysis of Heinrich-event glacial surges / Barry Saltzman, M. Verbitsky.
Author(s): Saltzman, Barry.
Verbitsky, M.
Date: 1994.
In: Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1994.), Vol. 75(44, supplement) (1994)
Abstract: Abstract. Episodes of deposition of ice-rafted detritus identified in North Atlantic cores indicate periods of abnormal iceberg production, calved from Laurentide ice sheet. Develops further scaling theory of these events, leading to general criterion for basal melting of ice sheet, which is taken as necessary condition for surging and streaming. This criterion is applied to past and present ice sheets showing general vulnerability to surging.
Notes:
