Record #130219:

Measured propagation of a kinematic wave through a small piedmont lobe near Redoubt Volcano, Alaska / Dennis C. Trabant.

Title: Measured propagation of a kinematic wave through a small piedmont lobe near Redoubt Volcano, Alaska / Dennis C. Trabant.
Author(s): Trabant, Dennis C.
Date: 1994.
In: Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1994.), Vol. 75(44, supplement) (1994)
Abstract: Abstract. 1963-66 eruption destroyed glaciers feeding lobe on north side of volcano. Glaciers reformed and began supplying ice to lobe again in mid-1970s. New supply of ice generated kinematic wave at head of lobe. Speed measurements were made from 1978 up to further eruption in 1989-90, when lobe was beheaded. During 1993, wave reached terminus and caused some calving, but it did not advance across river to form ice-dammed lake as had been suggested.
