Record #130073:

Snowcover mapping with the airborne visible/infrared imaging spectrometer / Anne W. Nolin.

Title: Snowcover mapping with the airborne visible/infrared imaging spectrometer / Anne W. Nolin.
Author(s): Nolin, Anne W.
Date: 1994.
Publisher: Piscataway, NJ: Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers
In: IGARSS'94 : International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium : Surface and Atmospheric Remote Sensing: Technologies, Data Analysis and Interpretation : California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California USA, August 8-12, 1994. (1994.), Vol.4.
Abstract: This method has been used successfully to map snow-covered areas and snow grain size in topographically complex regions. Where solar illumination is sufficient, spectral mixture analysis maps fraction of snow cover in pixel accurately. Combination of air photographs, ground reflectance measurements, snow samples and AVIRIS data provide validation for both snow-covered area and grain-size mapping techniques.
