Record #130062:

Effect of snow stereology on millimeter wave extinction / Gary Koh, Robert E. Davis.

Title: Effect of snow stereology on millimeter wave extinction / Gary Koh, Robert E. Davis.
Author(s): Koh, Gary.
Davis, Robert E.
Date: 1994.
Publisher: Piscataway, NJ: Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers
In: IGARSS'94 : International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium : Surface and Atmospheric Remote Sensing: Technologies, Data Analysis and Interpretation : California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California USA, August 8-12, 1994. (1994.), Vol.4.
Abstract: Network analyzer-based system was used for laboratory measurements of extinction coefficient of various snow types at 26.5 to 40 GHz. Snow samples were prepared using sieved snow so that it was possible to vary and measure size distribution of disaggregated ice particles in sample. In addition, stereology measurements were made to obtain microstructural properties of snow samples. Results were used to determine extinction behaviour of snow pack at radar frequencies.
