Record #129823:

The lifetime of leewave-induced ice particles in the Arctic stratosphere: 2. Stabilization due to NAT-coating / Thomas Peter, Rolf Müller, Paul J. Crutzen, Terry Deschler.

Title: The lifetime of leewave-induced ice particles in the Arctic stratosphere: 2. Stabilization due to NAT-coating / Thomas Peter, Rolf Müller, Paul J. Crutzen, Terry Deschler.
Author(s): Peter, Thomas.
Müller, Rolf.
Crutzen, Paul J.
Deschler, Terry.
Date: 1994.
In: Geophysical Research Letters. (1994.), Vol. 21(13) (1994)
Abstract: Suggests that slow evaporation of large ice particles described in part 1 of paper (p.1327-1330) could be explained if particles had acquired coating of nitric acid trihydrate (NAT). Explains mechanism of evaporation by this means. Part of European Arctic Stratospheric Ozone Experiment (EASOE)
Notes:

551.574.3 -- Condensation, ice particles in clouds.
551.510.532 -- Stratosphere.
551.576 -- Cloud: PSC.
