Record #129759:

Time-dependent displacement behaviour of model adfreeze and grouted piles in saline frozen soils / K.W. Biggar, D.C. Sego.

Title: Time-dependent displacement behaviour of model adfreeze and grouted piles in saline frozen soils / K.W. Biggar, D.C. Sego.
Author(s): Biggar, K. W.
Sego, D. C.
Date: 1994.
In: Canadian Geotechnical Journal. (1994.), Vol. 31(3) (1994)
Abstract: Object was to examine pile performance in soil at salinities at which either adfreeze bond strength or time-dependent deformation govern pile capacity, thereby providing guidance on which pile configuration provides optimum performance in various native soil conditions. Short-term time-dependent pile deformation in ice-poor saline silty sand was best described using simple power law of time, whereas long-term time-dependent deformations were best described using flow law formulation similar to that used to describe long-term time-dependent deformation of ice or ice-rich permafrost.
