Record #129709:

Products of subglacial volcanic eruptions under different ice thicknesses: two examples from Antarctica / J.L. Smellie, Ian P. Skilling.

Title: Products of subglacial volcanic eruptions under different ice thicknesses: two examples from Antarctica / J.L. Smellie, Ian P. Skilling.
Author(s): Smellie, J. L.
Skilling, Ian P.
Date: 1994.
Abstract: Descriptions and interpretations of lithofacies and lithofacies associations are used to constrain eruptive and post-eruptive processes, and minimum original ice thicknesses. Selected sequences demonstrate contrasting lithofacies generated beneath thin (100 to 150 m) wet-based valley-confined ice (Mount Pinafore, Alexander Island) and thicker (>=400 m) ice confining englacial lake (Brown Bluff, northern Graham Land)
