Scattering of millimeter radiowaves by dry snowflakes / A. Osharin.
Title: | Scattering of millimeter radiowaves by dry snowflakes / A. Osharin. |
Author(s): | Osharin, A. |
Date: | 1994. |
Publisher: | Piscataway, NJ: Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers |
In: | IGARSS'94 : International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium : Surface and Atmospheric Remote Sensing: Technologies, Data Analysis and Interpretation : California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California USA, August 8-12, 1994. (1994.), Vol.1. |
Abstract: | Purcell--Pennypacker coupled dipole method is used to calculate scattering of millimetre waves by dry snowflakes modelled by collection of intersected dendrite-like crystals, whose maximum length is comparable to wavelength of incident radiation. Averaged over 16 orientations, extinction, scattering and absorption cross-sections of model snowflake in frequency range from 10 to 130 GHz are computed. |
