Temporal evolution of physical and dielectric properties of sea ice and snow during the early melt season: observations from SIMS '90 experiment / Mohammed E. Shokr, David G. Barber.
Title: | Temporal evolution of physical and dielectric properties of sea ice and snow during the early melt season: observations from SIMS '90 experiment / Mohammed E. Shokr, David G. Barber. |
Author(s): | Shokr, Mohammed E. Barber, David G. |
Date: | 1994. |
In: | Journal of Glaciology. (1994.), Vol. 40(134) (1994) |
Abstract: | First field experiment in 5 year seasonal sea-ice monitoring site (SIMS) programme was conducted in Resolute Passage between 15 May and 8 June 1990 (early melt season). Objectives of study were: to characterize spatial and temporal variability in geophysical properties which give rise to dielectric and microwave-scattering properties of snow and ice; and to compare observations with those collected in similar seasonal but different regional and interannual conditions. |
