Foraminiferal stratigraphy, palaeoenvironments and sedimentation of the glacigenic sequence southwest of Bjørnøya / David A.R. Poole, Joar Saettem, Tore O. Vorren.
Title: | Foraminiferal stratigraphy, palaeoenvironments and sedimentation of the glacigenic sequence southwest of Bjørnøya / David A.R. Poole, Joar Saettem, Tore O. Vorren. |
Author(s): | Poole, David A. R. Saettem, Joar. Vorren, Tore O. |
Date: | 1994. |
In: | Boreas. (1994.), Vol. 23(2) (1994) |
Abstract: | Based on four shallow drillings from shelf south-west of Bjørnøya, palaeoenvironments deduced from foraminifera and isotopic indicators are reconstructed. Six foraminiferal assemblage zones were identified, five of which are believed to have been deposited during glacial periods. |
Notes: | Boreas. Vol. 23(2) :122-138 (1994). |
Keywords: | 551.33 -- Glacial geology. 551.332.2 -- Drift, glacial. Deposits. 551.583.3 -- Climatic changes, Quaternary. 593.12 -- Foraminifera and amoebozoa. E9 -- Glaciology: meteorology and climatology. (*60) -- Arctic Ocean and adjacent waters. (*686) -- Barents Sea. |
