Abstract: Maritime Antarctic, with larger amplitude and longer duration of freeze--thaw cycles, plus presence of permafrost, exhibits frequent occurrence of large forms of sorted stripes. Byers Peninsula on Livingston Island has extensive range of sorted features, but most are of miniature variety. Their alignment and spatial distribution are not associated with sun or wind, but are function of snow cover.
