Record #129174:
Polar stratospheric cloud climatology based on Stratospheric Aerosol Measurement II observations from 1978 to 1989 / Lamont R. Poole, Michael C. Pitts.
Title: | Polar stratospheric cloud climatology based on Stratospheric Aerosol Measurement II observations from 1978 to 1989 / Lamont R. Poole, Michael C. Pitts. |
Author(s): | Poole, Lamont R. Pitts, Michael C. |
Date: | 1994. |
In: | Journal of Geophysical Research. (1994.), Vol. 99(D6) (1994) |
Abstract: | Uses high-latitude record for aerosol extinction obtained by SAM II to establish climatology of PSCs in Arctic and Antarctic. Describes objective approach for identification of PSCs in data record, presents average PSC sighting probabilities, and compares these to average temperatures at SAM II measurement sites as interpolated from NOAA Climate Analysis Center analyses. |
Notes: | Journal of Geophysical Research. Vol. 99(D6) :13, 083-13, 089 (1994). |
Keywords: | 551.5 -- Meteorology. 551.576 -- Cloud: PSC. 551.510.42 -- Atmospheric impurities, dust and aerosols. D -- Atmospheric sciences. (*2) -- Polar regions. |
