| Abstract: | Summarizes current knowledge of oil and gas resources in these regions of northern Canada. 48 significant oil and gas discoveries have been made to date. Identifies and quantifies 20 exploration plays, distinguished as forming four groups: Onshore/Shallow Offshore Play Group; Offshore Delta Play Group; West Beaufort Play Group; and Deep Water and Other Play Group. Total endowment for oil estimated at between 6.2 and 7.8 billion barrels. Consists of three parts: 1 - basin analysis; 2 - resource assessment; 3 - economic potential of undiscovered gas resources. |
