Record #129089:

Isotope stratigraphy, sedimentation rates, deep circulation, and carbonate events in the Labrador Sea during the last 200 ka / Claude Hillaire-Marcel, Anne de Vernal, Guy Bilodeau, Guoping Wu.

Title: Isotope stratigraphy, sedimentation rates, deep circulation, and carbonate events in the Labrador Sea during the last 200 ka / Claude Hillaire-Marcel, Anne de Vernal, Guy Bilodeau, Guoping Wu.
Author(s): Hillaire-Marcel, Claude.
Vernal, Anne de.
Bilodeau, Guy.
Wu, Guoping.
Date: 1994.
In: Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences. (1994.), Vol. 31(1) (1994)
Abstract: High-resolution stable-isotope and accelerator mass spectrometry ¹⁴C measurements of cores allow reconstruction of major palaeoceanographical changes during this time in basin, and also document links between interior of Laurentide ice sheet and North Atlantic Ocean. Results and conclusions are discussed; one of these is that carbonate events and Heinrich events, observed during last two glaciations, are due to two distinct mechanisms: deep turbidity currents and ice rafting.
