Record #129074:

Thunderstorm electrification laboratory experiments and charging mechanisms / C.P.R. Saunders.

Title: Thunderstorm electrification laboratory experiments and charging mechanisms / C.P.R. Saunders.
Author(s): Saunders, C. P. R.
Date: 1994.
In: Journal of Geophysical Research. (1994.), Vol. 99(D5) (1994)
Abstract: Laboratory experiments of graupel charging during ice-particle collisions reveal charge sign dependent on temperature and cloud conditions. Several experiments and theories are reviewed, and it is concluded that detailed information is needed on surface conditions of graupel pellets in order to identify charge processes that operate in thunderstorms.
