Abstract: | Regional-scale behaviour of backscattering at C-band is investigated using data of AMI-WIND instrument during November 1991 over Arctic Ocean. Normalized radar cross-section appears as linear function of incidence angle, whose two parameters vary considerably between zones of first- and multi-year sea ice. Once slope parameters of AMI-WIND data have been determined, measured normalized radar cross-sections are corrected to bring them to single reference incidence angle. False-colour mapping of variable displays first- and multi-year sea-ice zones as determined previously from several passive microwave sensors (ESMR, SSM/I) |
