Towards an integrated geographic analysis system with remote sensing, GIS and consecutive modelling for snow cover monitoring / Michael F. Baumgartner, G. Apfl.

Title: Towards an integrated geographic analysis system with remote sensing, GIS and consecutive modelling for snow cover monitoring / Michael F. Baumgartner, G. Apfl.
Author(s): Baumgartner, Michael F.
Apfl, G.
Date: 1994.
In: International Journal of Remote Sensing. (1994.), Vol. 15(7) (1994)
Abstract: Discusses design of Alpine snow-cover analysis system (ASCAS) for monitoring variations of snow cover in Alps. Shows how snow-cover data obtained from satellite, climste, hydrologic and topographic data are programmed into system. Possible techniques for analyzing variations in snow cover and results are presented. Also describes integration of image processing and GIS techniques with applied models on microcomputer-based system.
