Record #128869:

The flux of overflow water through the Charlie-Gibbs Fracture Zone / Peter M. Saunders.

Title: The flux of overflow water through the Charlie-Gibbs Fracture Zone / Peter M. Saunders.
Author(s): Saunders, Peter M.
Date: 1994.
In: Journal of Geophysical Research. (1994.), Vol. 99(C6) (1994)
Abstract: Measurements were made within Charlie-Gibbs Fracture Zone in 1988-1989 to determine flux of overflow water passing westward out of Iceland Basin. Core salinity had value like that in 1981 and 1983, but fresher than in 1964. Flux was found to vary strongly but was lower than in purely hydrographic estimates. At deepest levels water enters two transform valleys of fracture zone from west and is flushed out of northern valley by bursts of overflow water.
