Record #128861:

The continent-ocean crustal transition across the south-west Greenland margin / Deping Chian, Keith E. Louden.

Title: The continent-ocean crustal transition across the south-west Greenland margin / Deping Chian, Keith E. Louden.
Author(s): Chian, Deping.
Louden, Keith E.
Date: 1994.
In: Journal of Geophysical Research. (1994.), Vol. 99(B5) (1994)
Abstract: Paper examines complete crustal transition across non-volcanic, south-west Greenland continental margin of Labrador Sea using wide-angle and coincident vertical-incidence seismic profiles. Ocean bottom seismometers and sonobuoy record P and S wave first and multiple arrivals from crust and upper mantle, analysed by dynamic wave tracing and reflectivity modelling. Model suggests that seafloor spreading did not start until chrons 27-28, 13 Ma younger than previously suggested, interpretation supported by gravity and magnetic data along refraction line.
