Record #128804:

The impact of freezing of sulfate aerosols on the formation of polar stratospheric clouds / Niels Larsen.

Title: The impact of freezing of sulfate aerosols on the formation of polar stratospheric clouds / Niels Larsen.
Author(s): Larsen, Niels.
Date: 1994.
In: Geophysical Research Letters. (1994.), Vol. 21(6) (1994)
Abstract: Homogeneous freezing of aerosol particles into sulphuric acid tetrahydrate and ice has been incorporated into detailed microphysical PSC model to investigate impact of freezing among sulphate aerosols on PSC size distributions. Demonstrates that freezing of largest particles might explain observed high HNO₃/NAT saturation ratios and denitrification by particle sedimentation in Arctic stratosphere. Comparisons also made to PSC formation unser Antarctic remperature conditions.
