Record #128771:

Late Paleozoic post-glacial inland sea filled by fine-grained turbidites: Mackellar Formation, central Transantarctic Mountains / Molly F. Miller, James W. Collinson.

Title: Late Paleozoic post-glacial inland sea filled by fine-grained turbidites: Mackellar Formation, central Transantarctic Mountains / Molly F. Miller, James W. Collinson.
Author(s): Miller, Molly F.
Collinson, James W.
Date: 1994.
Publisher: Cambridge: Cambridge University Press
In: Earth's glacial record. (1994.),
Abstract: Deposition in relatively shallow water of large postglacial sea resulting from melting of Permo-Carboniferous ice sheets was dominated by turbidity currents carrying fine-grained sediments in channel-overbank systems. Glacial environment allows definition of model in which fine-grained turbidite system is fed paradoxically by coarse-grained braided stream of outwash plain.
