Abstract: | Deposition in relatively shallow water of large postglacial sea resulting from melting of Permo-Carboniferous ice sheets was dominated by turbidity currents carrying fine-grained sediments in channel-overbank systems. Glacial environment allows definition of model in which fine-grained turbidite system is fed paradoxically by coarse-grained braided stream of outwash plain. |
