Record #128353:

Dens and summer pack size of Arctic wolves in Hold with Hope, East Greenland / Ulf Marquard-Petersen.

Title: Dens and summer pack size of Arctic wolves in Hold with Hope, East Greenland / Ulf Marquard-Petersen.
Author(s): Marquard-Petersen, Ulf.
Date: 1994.
In: Polar Record. (1994.), Vol. 30(172) (1994)
Abstract: Article recounts results of 1992 data collection in area of Hold with Hope where largest pack of wolves (Canis lupus arctus) yet observed in Greenland was watched. Five dens were examined for signs of construction (usually started by foxes), water supply, scats, soil composition, prey and occupants. Observations of winter pack behaviour suggest that wolves are based on favourable habitats separated by polar desert.
