Record #128335:

Exercise metabolism in two species of cod in Arctic waters / P.G. Bushnell, Jokn Fleng Steffensen, H. Schurmann, D.R. Jones.

Title: Exercise metabolism in two species of cod in Arctic waters / P.G. Bushnell, Jokn Fleng Steffensen, H. Schurmann, D.R. Jones.
Author(s): Bushnell, P. G.
Steffensen, Jokn Fleng.
Schurmann, H.
Jones, D. R.
Date: 1994.
In: Polar Biology. (1994.), Vol. 14(1) (1994)
Abstract: Northern range of Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) overlaps that of Greenland cod (G. ogac) at western Greenland, giving ideal conditions for testing hypothesis of metabolic cold adaption. Experiments used swim tunnel to measure oxygen consumption at 4°C over range of speeds and following exhaustion, monitored size of oxygen debt and time of debt repayment. No significant differences between species occurred at any speed and G. ogac took longer to repay debt.
