Record #12762:

Grønlands-Spørgsmaalet / Chr. Løfting.

Title: Grønlands-Spørgsmaalet / Chr. Løfting.
Translated title: The Greenland question.
Author(s): Løfting, Chr.
Date: 1924.
Publisher: Fredriksberg, Denmark: Østgrønlands-Komiteen
Language: Danish.
Abstract: Considers that treaty is still open to Norwegian controversy in present unclear "sword of Damocles" form. Yet even Nansen's crossing of Inland Ice was sponsored by Dane. Comparison with Svalbard is irrelevant - latter has no indigenous inhabitants. Suggests three types of land in Greenland: colonies; desolate parts of East and North coasts, but still susceptible of exploitation by visiting hunters or colonies of same; desolate parts open to all Scandinavians, but with Danish protection rules, as Svalbard is under Norway.
Keywords: 341.223 -- Territorial claims: Danish.
J -- Social sciences.
(*3) -- Arctic regions.
(*38) -- Greenland.
(*381) -- East Greenland.
Location(s): SCO: SPRI-PAM: (*38) : 341.223[Danish]
