Record #127444:

Two epochs of Norwegian-Russian trade relations: from symmetry to asymmetry / Trond Thuen.

Title: Two epochs of Norwegian-Russian trade relations: from symmetry to asymmetry / Trond Thuen.
Author(s): Thuen, Trond.
Date: 1993.
In: Acta Borealia. (1993.), Vol. 10(2) (1993)
Abstract: Article considers Pomor trade from 17th Cent. to 1919, then short period in 1992 when Russian "trader-tourists" sold petty commodities on streets of North Norwegian towns. Under latter, illegal deals led to its being closed, though it seems to survive in another form in festival-inspired "reinvention of tradition" typical of post-industrial modern Norway.
