Abstract: Describes model, which is based on experimental results of ice accretion on wires as well as glaze ice accretion on aerofoils. Model includes four parts: computation of air-flow field; computation of impinging water at control volume level; solution of heat-balance equation; and computation of accumulation of ice on cable. Results agree quite well with experimental results obtained by others, but improvements are suggested.
