Abstract: Discusses results of excavation, analysis, and interpretation of material from early twentieth-century refuse pit associated with mission house dating from 1916 through to late 1920s. Objective is to demonstrate that archaeological features of site are meaningfully related to dynamics of social interaction in Greater Mackenzie Delta area following collapse in whaling fishery in 1906.
