| Abstract: | At least 11 tephra layers in Sogamýri peat deposit have been identified and five possible sources found by chemical analysis. Two close layers are found near base of peat; they are newly described and clearly from early post-glacial time. Details of their origin and of their relationship to layers in Faroes and elsewhere in Iceland are suggested. |
