Record #126780:

Estimation of glacier lake outburst flood and its impact on a hydro project in Nepal / G. Meon, W. Schwarz.

Title: Estimation of glacier lake outburst flood and its impact on a hydro project in Nepal / G. Meon, W. Schwarz.
Author(s): Meon, G.
Schwarz, W.
Date: 1993.
Publisher: Wallingford, Oxfordshire: IAHS Press
In: Snow and glacier hydrology. Proceedings of an International Symposium held at Kathmandu, Nepal, 16-21 November 1992. (1993.),
Abstract: Consideration of potential glacier lake outburst floods (GLOF) is important when designing river engineering structures located downstream of hazardous glacier lakes. Discusses example of Arun river; results indicate that GLOF analysis should be included in addition to classical flood flow analysis.
